Awarded the Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal by the Honorable President of India for his courage and distinguished service to the country, he was also a member of the Indian Rowing team at the IXth ASIAD. A member of the Third Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica, establishing India’s first scientific base – DAKSHIN GANGOTRI, he has been a proud member of a Mountaineering Expedition to Leo Pargyal on the Indo Tibet border. The General has served in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in war torn Congo (DRC) as the Senior Military Observer. During his term there, he also served as a member of a UNDP Committee for Formulation of the local Government.
